Rush Hour. Spokane City Lines busses carry an average of 70,000 passengers daily. During the peak hours, 63 or more riders are crowded into 36-passenger busses. Although drivers frequently indicate a "tripper" will be along in a few minutes, homeward bound workers and shoppers seldom want to take a chance on being left behind. Between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. it's standing room only with most passengers glas to have a place to stand. Photo 01/23/1948. City Lines. Photo Archives/The Spokesman-Review.
