Police are trying to identify a man who headbutted a WalMart cashier while shoplifting last week. An image from a surveillance video shows the man at the store on East Broadway Avenue in Spokane Valley. A cashier told police he approached the man when he saw him walking toward the west exit with a large bulge in his sweatshirt about 12:45 a.m. July 24. The man tried to exit, but the doors were locked, so he headbutted the cashier and escaped through a fire exit, according to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office. The thief dropped stolen items in the process. The Sheriff''s Office released the surveillance photo today in hopes someone will recognize the man.
