On the beam: Owen (no last name given), 9, and other children receiving care in various departments sign their names Thursday to a steel beam that will be welded into the new pediatric emergency room building under construction at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children’s Hospital. The new construction includes 24,000 square feet of new space and remodeling of 4,200 more. The signed beam will be located in the Kid’s Club House, where children and their family and friends can relax during visits.
