Amanda Furrer of Spokane was 17 and a member of the U.S. National Shooting Team when she was aiming at her first U.S. Olympic trials in May 2008. She just missed going to the Beijing Olympics. Furrer held six national junior shooting records as a high school junior before graduating from Mead High School in 2009. In June 2012, after graduating from Ohio State University, she won a place on the U.S. Olympic Shooting Team headed for the Summer Games in London.
