Microorganisms matter: “These are the real workers at the plant,” Allen Dodge says about the welded steel sculptures he created for display at the City of Coeur d’Alene Wastewater Treatment Plant. Dodge made the sculptures in the shape of organisms including stalked ciliates, filamentous bacteria and nematodes. The artwork, shown in Dodge’s Coeur d’Alene shop Friday, will be installed in July.
