A message to drive by: Business Professionals of America member Maren Geesey, a junior at Lake City High School in Coeur d’Alene, joins the applause Thursday at a school assembly to congratulate the school’s BPA chapter, which won a national teen safe driving contest and $10,000. Lake City competed against 300 high schools in the Act Out Contest sponsored by the Allstate Foundation and National Organizations for Youth Safety. Each team undertook three projects: a Safe-Tee Shirt design, a Creative Community Sign and a Facebook Yearbook application, with which teens could contact their members of Congress and express support for stronger teen driving laws.
