All aglow: Volunteers Dayna Marchesseault, left, and Bambi Marshall string ribbon around 32 displays, which include 29 themed and decorated trees, before the evening viewing in the Coeur d’Alene Resort Convention Center on Friday. The annual Festival of Trees, put on by the Kootenai Health Foundation, has raised more than $4.4 million for projects at Kootenai Medical Center, including the heart center, cancer center and birthing center. The weekend event runs through Monday evening, and the ticketed events, such as the gala, senior social and the fashion shows, are sold out. Organizers said the best opportunity for non-ticket-holders to view the elaborate tree displays is Family Day on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., when admission is $2. To learn more, visit the Web at
