Underwater training: Spokane County sheriff’s Deputy John Cook minds the safety rope as Jeff Welton, a diver with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Emergency Operations Team, comes ashore after helping complete an underwater training exercise Tuesday at Boulder Beach on the Spokane River. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team is hosting a Dive Rescue International Course this week. Six dive teams from throughout the region are involved with the training.
