This is the scene at Seventh Avenue and Hatch Street where Spokane police were in a standoff with James E. Rogers on Sept. 26, 2011. Officer Dan Lesser shot Rogers from the armored personnel carrier at left. His bullets were fired through the upper-rear window of the rolled van and struck Rogers, who was seated on the passenger window with his back against the roof of the van.
