Event to mark Comstock Park’s 75th anniversary: Front to back, Paige McNeil, McKynzie Clark and Kaitlynn Davis, all 18, have fun on the swings in Comstock Park on June 26. The park was dedicated July 1, 1938, and a rededication ceremony July 11 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. will mark its 75th anniversary. The park was built on 21 acres donated by Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Shadle, who also donated $150,000 toward the creation of the park in memory of Mrs. Shadle’s father and Spokane Mayor J.M. Comstock. Mayor David Condon and Park Board President Randy Cameron will speak at the ceremony at 5 p.m., followed by music by Hot Club of Spokane about 6 p.m. Most activities will be in the park near the intersection of 29th Avenue and Howard Street.
