Circa 1920: These unidentified men are standing at the site of “Col. Wright’s Horse Slaughter Camp” along the Spokane River east of the city. If the date on the photograph is correct, the men may have been witnesses to the 1858 killing of hundreds of horses belonging to Indian tribes in the region.
