Meeting the challenge: A class of second-graders wave and cheer for their principal, Jeff Dufresne, right, who spent Thursday on the roof of Adams Elementary in Spokane Valley. Dufresne, who moved a desk, laptop and phone to the roof to continue his work, was paying off after he challenged his students to raise $8,000 at their Eagle Dash walk-a-thon, which raises funds for the Parent-Teacher-Student Association and pays for school supplies, field trips and special treat and events.
