Crystal Mountain ski resort near Mount Rainier opened its terrain Oct. 1, 2013, to take advantage of 22 inches of new snow for a special kickoff to the season.Tickets were available for $15 for the first 75 people to purchase online for a limited opening. Season passes were not valid. You must have a ticket to get on the gondola.
