Green orchards stand in contrast to burned-out areas in the aftermath of wildfires that swept through Pateros, Wash., in a photo taken Thursday. Fire spokesman Pete Buist said the biggest wildfire in the state’s history remained at 52 percent containment Thursday. However, weather forecasts call for hot and dry conditions to return in the next few days.
