Josh Rindal of Spokane pauses at the sign to Tripod Flat Cabin and the new bridge the BLM had put there along the Iditarod Trail. This portion of the trail is between Kaltag and Unalakleet, and it is known as the Kaltag Portage. Human beings have used this portage for over 9,000 years! Rindal and Bob Jones of Kettle Falls were snowmobiling 1,400-miles along the route of Alaska's famous Iditarod Sled Dog Race in March 2014.
