Jim Whittaker, standing, and Sen. Robert Kennedy, resting on a shelf dug into the wall of a snow cave, gather with other climbers during the 1965 Mount Kennedy expedition. The cave had been carved into the glacier by an advance team. They used spray paint on one wall of the cave to write "Senate Chamber." On the side of the tunnel, they wrote, "Members Only," mimicking the signs on Capitol Hill elevators.
