Brandon Skocilich hugs his girlfriend Kayla Kreuch after they arrived home Friday to find their family’s three dogs had died of smoke inhalation in a fire at the house, at 927 E. 38th Ave. The fire, which was quickly contained, is believed to have started in a wall behind a woodstove.
