Bat autographed by Gehrig will aid another ALS sufferer
Nick Swartz has offered up his grandfather's wood bat autographed by the 1933 New York Yankees for auction to help care for his stepmother, Jenny Hoff, as she battles ALS. The bat has the signatures of 9 Hall of Fame players including Babe Ruth and Lou Gerhig. Gehrig was also a victim of ALS. The auction runs until Aug. 18 at www.memorylaneinc.com.
