UPDATED
The video is of Central Valley boys basketball coach Rick Sloan. I asked him about his team's 10th straight win Tuesday, 69-52 over Shadle Park. Here's a link to the CV/Shadle boys story and roundup of the other Greater Spokane League games.
The shocker last night occured in the girls when the No. 1-ranked Central Valley girls were upset 54-53 by the vastly improved Shadle Park Highlanders. Here's that story along with the other GSL games.
The Post Falls boys topped Lake City to throw the 5A Inland Empire League race into a logjam. Here's our area boys roundup. And Lewiston's girls grabbed share of league title with Coeur d'Alene, but the first night of the 5A Region I tournament will be held at Coeur d'Alene on Friday.
Here's a link to the updated GSL boys and girls scoring leaders.

Greg, what decision (if any) has been made about divisionalizing the GSL into 3A and 4A divisions?
Now that the Columbia Basin Big Nine has divided into a CBBN (TriCities) and CBL (Wenatchee-Moses Lake-Yakima), will both of those leagues remain in the same WIAA Region as the GSL, or will one of them move itno another region?
Do we know yet what Regional playoffs will look like for 2012-14? If not, who will make the decision and when will it be made?

I dont think Shadle beating CV was a shocker or a big upset. Shadle matches up against CV well and has a better bench. Shadle underachieved at the beginning of the season but is now playing like I thought they would. Shadle has a good group of girls and are better coached..

Al,
Good questions among many questions. More unanswered questions than answered at this point. In time. I do know the GSL and the two leagues south of here will have to talk.

I was a little surprised that U-Hi QB Connor Johnson is going to Wazzu as a walk-on. He had a pretty solid career, and would have thought he would have been a good catch for a I-AA team. Maybe he did not want to go that route. Hope it works out at Wazzu. I hear he is a good kid.

They will take berth straight to the round of 16. the new league down in the tri will get 1 berth also and take to the round of 16. Sunnnnnnnside will play in the tri cities district tourney. Crossovers are done.

Gore, that came out a bit garbled. Do you mean 6 berths or 6 teams? 4A?
Can you give a link to where you read this so we can read it ourselves?

Connor is an exceptional young man. Polite, responsible, coachable, team player…..I could go on and on. This sounds like a great opportunity for him to practice right away with the Cougs and wait for a scholarship should they like what they see. My opinion is that he will fit perfectly into their scheme as he is very smart and can read very well. His move to University was instrumental in allowing this opportunity. Bill Diedrich taught him well. Watch for this young man to turn his Wazzu journey into a great story in a few years!

Wen/ml/east/davis/ike will send 1 team total to state no crossovers at all. I work at one of these schools so I know. The 6th team Sunnyside will play with the 4 tri 3a schools for districts. The northern or southern schools will not risk their one berth by playing each other or the spokane schools in 4a.
