The difference was the Warriors had Derek Isaac and the Panthers did not.
Isaac erupted for 30 second-half points and finished with a tournament-record 44 as Almira/Coulee-Hartline held on and beat Valley Christian in the 1B title game.
The stat-line for Isaac, the lone senior for the Warriors, is astonishing. Isaac made 16 of 28 shots, including 6 of 12 from beyond the arc and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. He had 14 points in the third quarter and 16 in the fourth.
Valley Christian got out to a quick start. The Panthers made 13 of 23 field goals in the first half and led by 12 points at halftime. However, they had no answer for Isaac in the second half and saw their lead turn into a deficit.
Craver Small had 24 points and six rebounds and Noah McConahy added 11 points for Valley Christian.
