Friday’s State 2B girls results

DeSales 34, White Swan 33

Allison Wujek’s putback off an offensive rebound with 30 seconds to play proved to be the deciding basket in the Irish’s win over the Cougars in a consolation-bracket game.

White Swan opened the second quarter on a 5-0 run to take a 19-9 lead, but DeSales didn’t give in.

Ashlyn Lyons and Wujek combined for 21 points for the Irish, who held the Cougars to just two points in the final quarter.

Emily Botkin led White Swan with 18 points and 14 rebounds, both game highs.

Napavine 39, Onalaska 33

The Tigers built a 10-point halftime lead and withstood the Loggers’ second-half charge.

Demi Sahlinger scored 21 points and Alexa Peters pulled down 13 rebounds to lead Napavine.

Onalaska was led by Autumn Durand, who erupted for a game-high 27 points. She also grabbed 12 rebounds.

The Loggers were eliminated.

Kelsey Moos scored 19 points and collected 14 rebounds as the Indians made short order of Morton-White Pass and advanced to their third consecutive state championship game.

Moos scored 15 points in the second quarter to effectively put away the Timberwolves.

NW Christian 47, Pe Ell 46

Chanel Knight made a game-winning layup as time expired and Northwest Christian advanced over Pe Ell to the title game.

Up 46-45, Pe Ell’s Sami Robinson missed two free throws with 10.1 seconds left after an intentional foul. Pe Ell retained possession but Rachel Bozlee stole the ball soon after the inbounds.

Northwest Christian’s initial game-winning attempt from Maria Guske was no good and the ball was knocked out of bounds off the Trojans with 3.3 seconds left. Guske inbounded the ball to Knight, who missed her first attempt, collected the offensive rebound and kissed her second attempt off the glass for the game-winner.

Pe Ell’s Alissa Brooks Johnson scored a game-high 20 points and recorded nine rebounds.
