Playhouse Project Spokane

Earlier this year, Playhouse Project Spokane invited area youth to create original artwork for their Dream Playhouses. The grand prize drawing will be auctioned off at a gala fund-raiser in April.

“Draw Your Dream” playhouse submissions were evaluated on creativity and adherence to the topic. The competition was open to ages 4 and under, 5-8 and 9-12. The winners were recognized at the Playhouse Project launch breakfast on Feb. 6, 2013. The top submissions in each age group received a variety of prizes including an iPad Mini for the overall grand prize winner.

The auction takes place April 13 at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center. Ten playhouses will be auctioned off and one can be won with a raffle. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased by calling (509) 323-7487. Raffle tickets are $1 apiece and available at Spokane-area Rosauers stores and any of the participating community centers .

Proceeds from the auction benefit the West Central Community Center, Northeast Youth Center and the Peaceful Valley Community Center. These centers provide programs and services promoting education, recreation and positive life choices for at-risk youth.

To watch the construction of the playhouses, get more info about the auction or become a sponsor, please follow Project-Playhouse-Spokane on Facebook or call Kim Ferraro at (509) 323-7480.

The following drawings were selected as winners and the grand prize winner of the “Draw Your Dream” Playhouse Contest. The completed playhouses will be on display at the SHBA Premier Home Improvement Show April 12-14.
