I never have seen creatures like this before I must have a closer look.

On a recent trip to Southwest Montana my wife Sandy and I discovered a red fox den the den had two little ones.
The kits were very interested in my wife and I probably never having seen a humane before one almost walked up to us.
To get this shot of the kit sleeping I was above the den and used a long lens the den entrance is to the left and out of the photo. I will never complain about a hard bed ever again.

There are several breeding pairs of loons in our area. Chicks are just beginning to hatch. Most hatchlings fall prey to predation by eagles, so is something to celebrate when one makes it to maturity. They are very water repellant, and water droplets bead on them after surfacing from a dive. Taken in Pend Oreille County.
