MOSCOW, Idaho – Abetted by 40-degree temperatures, winds gusting to 20 miles per hour and the odd snowflake, defense got the upper hand early in Idaho’s scrimmage Saturday.

MOSCOW, Idaho – On Idaho football coach Jason Eck’s first day of spring practice, the dedicated football fan might have picked up on the painstaking attention to playing with leverage and taking proper angles the Vandals’ new staff stressed to the players.

They may have futilely chased perfection. But a half-dozen University of Idaho football players caught satisfaction and in the process piled up fuel to keep their dreams of playing professional football smoldering. And at the very least, one of them, Jonah Kim, can walk away with a smile.

At a booster luncheon on signing day, new Idaho coach Jason Eck delivered some of college football recruiting’s greatest hits.
