Nick Davila helped two-time defending champion Arizona advance to its third straight ArenaBowl, throwing eight touchdown passes in the Rattlers’ 72-56 victory over the San Jose SaberCats on Sunday night in the National Conference championship game at Phoenix. Arizona will face Cleveland in the title game Aug. 23 in Orlando, Florida. The Gladiators beat visiting Orlando 56-46 on Sunday night in the American Conference title game. Shock’s James Ruffin signs with Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Spokane Shock career sack leader, defensive end James Ruffin, has signed a contract to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL. Ruffin recently completed the 2014 season with the Shock, racking up a franchise single-season record and AFL-leading 14.0 sacks, beating the previous record of 8.5. Ruffin and Mac linebacker Derrick Summers led a Shock defense that recorded a league-leading 40 sacks. Read more

SAN JOSE, Calif. – So much for Spokane’s momentum entering the playoffs. San Jose dominated the Shock on both sides of the ball and cruised to a 55-28 victory Saturday at the SAP Center.
