Showdown for Shock, SaberCats

Spokane's 69-47 rout of San Jose six weeks ago changed the course of the SaberCats' season. San Jose traded future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Garcia to Orlando and signed former Chicago QB Russ Michna.

The SaberCats haven't lost since, winning five in a row. Spokane immediately dropped three straight but has rebounded with a pair of victories. .

They tangle tonight in a game that will go a long way in determining both teams' playoff hopes. Here's my game preview. More on Michna here.

The third-ranked Shock are 7-3, No. 2 San Jose is 7-2 and No. 1 Arizona is 9-1. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
