For the first three games, the Spokane Shock’s “All In” motto means the Arena Football League team is all in airports, vans and hotels. Spokane, which opened the season with a 67-41 road win last week over Cleveland, has packed its gear for an extended trip, beginning with today’s contest versus Chicago at Allstate Arena. The Spokane Shock have announced their opening-day roster after making final cuts at the conclusion of their training camp. The Shock’s roster features a strong mix of veterans along with a number of AFL newcomers. The defensive secondary is comprised of three Shock veterans in Paul Stephens, Terrance Sanders, and Patrick Stoudamire. Two Pirates earn all-region
Christiana Anderson, a Whitworth sophomore from Northwest Christian, and freshman Chris MacMurray earned All-West Region honors for their performances in the NCAA Division III West Region Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Independence, Ore. Anderson finished 27th in the women’s 6k race, timing 22 minutes, 25.71 seconds, and MacMurray was 35th in the men’s 8k race in 25:43.76. Both were the first Pirates to finish. The men placed ninth and the women 10th. Read more
