Cutting a tree in the National Forest

There are several options for obtaining a Christmas tree, including artificial trees, U-cut farms, tree lots in town and trees from the nearby woods. While cutting a holiday tree for the Idaho Panhandle National Forests Supervisor’s office in Coeur d’Alene, Public Affairs Officer Jason Kirchner and veteran forester Mark Grant talk about why a tree from the nearby public lands might be a good choice. At only $5 for a permit, it’s an affordable option.
