Area women’s basketball: No. 9 OSU rallies to beat Cougars

Sydney Wiese scored 11 of her 16 points in the fourth quarter when No. 9 Oregon State rallied for a 54-45 victory Sunday over Washington State in Pullman The Cougars have lost six straight games, but they held small leads after the second and third quarters before Oregon State outscored WSU 26-11 in the final quarter.

North Idaho routs CSI to remain undefeated

For North Idaho College head coach Corey Symons, it wasn’t hot shooting or tenacious defense that paced the third-ranked Cardinals’ 91-74 thrashing of archrival College of Southern Idaho at Rolly Williams Court on Saturday. Rather, it was NIC’s ability to share the ball. The Cardinals finished with 22 assists, with Lucas Antunez and Braian Angola Rodas leading the way with eight apiece.

Area roundup: Americans top Chiefs 4-1

A night after scoring six goals against the top team in the Western Hockey League, the Spokane Chiefs’ offense fell flat in a 4-1 loss to the Tri-City Americans Saturday at Toyota Center in Kennewick. Taylor Ross scored Spokane’s lone goal early in the third period. After a scoreless first period, Tri-City (24-25-2-1) scored three second-period goals to grab control.

Huskies outmuscled by No. 23 Arizona
