Klinsmann hopes US mentality changes in Copa knockout stage

Jurgen Klinsmann wants a transformed mentality when the United States opens the knockout phase of the Copa America on Thursday. “The whole old story is the underdog story, and I cannot hear that story anymore,” the U.S. coach said. “I want to see them risk things. Let’s go for it. Because if you’re not going for it, sooner or later they’re going to break you down.”

Loyd, Storm hold on for 90-88 win over Fever

INDIANAPOLIS – Jewell Loyd scored 20 points, including two free throws with 2.4 seconds to play, and the Seattle Storm beat the Indiana Fever 90-88 on Sunday night. Crystal Langhorne added 17 points, Sue Bird had 16, and Jenna O’Hea scored 10 for the Storm (4-6). Rookie Breanna Stewart had seven points, five rebounds, six assists and three blocked shots.
