Mary Beth Donelan

Mary Beth Donelan joined The Spokesman-Review in 1989. As Newsroom Office Manager and member of the management team, she supervises the newsroom support staff and the research library staff, works closely with and coordinates requests from reporters and editors and monitors newsroom budgets and payroll.

Michael McGarr joined The Spokesman-Review in 2005. He currently is a copy editor, responsible for checking the accuracy and grammar of news and business stories, as well as writing headlines, for both print and online versions.

Chris Soprych

Chris Soprych joined The Spokesman-Review in 2016. He is the Assistant Managing Editor for Design and is responsible for the look and feel of The Spokesman-Review. He designs the front page every day and works on multimedia projects as well. Chris has previously worked for the Seattle Times, Chicago Tribune and most recently at the Orange County Register.

Paul Turner

Paul Turner joined The Spokesman-Review in 1988 after starting his journalism career in 1976 and working for newspapers in Arizona, Texas and Tennessee. He is a features columnist. His column, The Slice, appears six times a week.

Rob Curley is the editor of The Spokesman-Review and joined the newspaper in 2016. He has previously held leadership positions at The Orange County Register, Las Vegas Sun, Washington Post and Lawrence Journal-World.


Rick House

Rick House joined The Spokesman-Review in 1997. He is currently the national editor and selects the wire stories from the world, nation and Northwest region that appear both on and in print. He also designs the national and world news section of the print product.


Alyssa Shanklin

Alyssa Shanklin joined The Spokesman-Review in 2017. As an Editorial Assistant, she inputs letters to the editor, compiles content for Today and Voice sections and composes the Education Notebook.

Erik Solberg

Erik Solberg joined The Spokesman-Review in 2016. He is an Editorial Assistant for the newsroom compiling court records and most entertainment and social calendars for the Today and 7 sections.

John Stucke

John Stucke joined The Spokesman-Review in 2000. As Metro Editor, he directs local news coverage and oversees newsroom reporters. He has reported on business, health care, bankruptcy and agriculture for the paper.
