Okanogan coach Bryan Boesel has been saying it all year: His team is more than one player. Like most good ideas at the Allen house, this one came from my wife. “You should try a triathlon – it’ll be fun,” said Dannette, who did two of them last year while I schlepped her gear, took pictures and shouted encouragement until she was out of earshot.

Eastern needs to win, Sac State to falter for Eagles to host Big Sky tournament

Yes, that was  a costly loss to Montana last week, but Eastern Washington has plenty to play for this week, even if the Eagles don’t get to host the Big Sky Conference men’s basketball tournament. The biggest key for the Eagles is to get back in the groove, health-wise and shooting-wise, on  this week’s road trip.

Grizzlies hamper Eagles’ chances

There’s a lot of basketball to be played at Eastern Washington, but most likely it won’t happen at Reese Court. Too bad, because the place was packed Saturday afternoon – 4,621 were on hand to watch the Eagles try to make a little history. They still might, but after a tough 77-76 loss to Montana, they’ll have to do it the hard way – on the road.
