Elite Gymnasts Travel To State Meet

The Level 9 girls team from Spokane Elite Gymnastics in the Valley will compete in the state meet in Tacoma April 7-9.

Members of the team are Lindsay Brandle, Tara Hulbert, Jaime Brunner, Gail Larsen and Brooke Bishop.

For the past month they have been competing in and winning various meets.

Included were SEG’s Leapin’ Leprechaun Classic at University High School and Lilac Cup Invitational at Whitworth College, where the Level 5 and Levels 8 and 9 teams were victorious.

Brandle won floor exercise and beam and was first all around at U-Hi. Larsen, second all around, won bars and Hulbert won vault.

At Whitworth, Bishop won floor exercise and was second all around. Brandle placed third overall.

Among other high scorers, Emily Roberts and Kristin Brunner won the respective all-around titles for Level 8 over 13 age group. Karlee Poirier won bars and was second on floor exercise to win Level 8 ages 8-13 over teammate Meloney Monaghan.

Level 5 gymnasts Melissa Alderman, Alix Herr and Casey Dobyns paced the two victories. Alderman was first all around for ages 11 and older and Herr beat Dobyns in ages 9-10 at the Leapin’ Leprechaun Classic.

Level 6 gymnasts score for NWGA

Competing against eight teams from Washington and Idaho, Northwest Gymnastics Academy Level 6 boys won first place.

Keven Olson was first all around in age 10-11, winning rings and vault and placing among the top three in three other events. David Novak won parallel bars and was third overall.

Stewart Renz, in age 8-9, finished second all around, winning high bars and finishing second in three other events. Isaac Olsen won parallel bars and was second on rings.

Liberty Lake golfers to meet

Medal play for Liberty Lake 18-Hole Ladies Golf Club is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

During the initial meeting, 60 women were in attendance.
