Forest Service Office In Nevada Bombed

Compiled From Wire Services

An after-hours bomb blast blew out several windows at a U.S. Forest Service office. No one was injured.

District Ranger Guy Pence said he knew of no reason for anyone to bomb his office and wasn’t aware of any threats.

The bomb, which apparently had been put on a window sill of the one-story building, went off Thursday evening. It tore off some of the rock facing and damaged a computer terminal, telephone and other office equipment inside.

The Forest Service is involved in several controversial issues, including proposals to raise fees for grazing and mining on federal land.
