Tea, Fashion Exhibition To Aid Poor Clare Nuns

The 35th-annual Poor Clare Tea and Fashion Show, an annual fundraiser for the Poor Clare Nuns of Spokane, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Sheraton-Spokane Hotel’s Grand Ballroom.

“Celebrate with Style” will feature hand-crafted clothing modeled by the designers. Ferris High School’s Canterbury Belles will perform during the fashion show, and there will be booths selling a variety of items from baked goods to Easter gifts.

All proceeds benefit the Poor Clare Monastery, home to a cloister order of Roman Catholic nuns. The money will help pay for building renovations and help pay for the nuns’ living expenses.

Tickets are $25 for patrons, $5 for general admission and $3 for senior citizens. For more ticket information, call Dorothea Collins at 328-2104.

Benny Hinn Miracle Crusade The Benny Hinn Miracle Crusade will be at the Tacoma Dome Aug. 17-18.

Inland Northwest residents interested in attending the crusade can sign up for the “On Fire for Jesus” travel package, which includes bus transportation to and from Tacoma, hotel accommodations and shuttle service from the hotels to the Tacoma Dome.

Bible study tour

An informational meeting for the “Lands of the Bible Study Tour” will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Whitworth Community Presbyterian Church, 212 W. Hawthorne.

The Rev. Jim Singleton and his wife, Jan, will lead the tour to Greece, Israel and Copenhagen next February. Seven slots are still available.
