Valley Skipper’s Loses Lease, Closes

Emi Endo Staff writer

The Spokane Valley Skipper’s seafood restaurant closed Sunday.

Skipper’s Seafood ‘N Chowder House, at 11618 E. Sprague, lost its lease after being at the location for 25 years.

The Bellevue, Wash.-based chain is considering opening another Valley store location, said area general manager Scott Todd.

Todd said some of the 20 workers were relocated to other Skipper’s restaurants, and others must find new jobs.

“This did happen pretty suddenly,” Todd said. “We were trying to negotiate the lease up until the end.”

“Hopefully we’ll have another (Valley) one open in eight months to a year.”

Skipper’s operates five restaurants in the Spokane area.
