Volunteers Sought To Tidy Up New Park

From Staff Reports

Boosters of Post Falls’ new Black Bay Park will gather there from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday to clean up the park and generate public interest in its development.

Jeff Schwartz, park committee co-chairman, said people should sign up in advance to clean up at Black Bay or other city parks by calling 773-0539. Saturday is also kickoff for Post Falls’ citywide spring cleanup campaign.

Black Bay, a riverside natural area, is being developed as a multipurpose park. The master plan includes some hiking trails, trails for bikes and in-line skaters, a skating pond, picnic and playground equipment. A skateboarding area may also be included.

Saturday’s event will begin with hot drinks, fruit and doughnuts at 8 a.m. and end at noon with chili, hot dogs and drinks. Post Falls Tidyman’s will furnish the food.
