Ressler, Kjos Appointed To Higher Education Board

Diane Ressler and David Kjos have been appointed to the board of the Spokane Joint Center for Higher Education by Gov. Mike Lowry.

Ressler, the public affairs manager for The Boeing Co., serves on the boards of Momentum and United Way. She’s involved with the Spokane Area Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Spokane. Ressler replaces Thomas Perko.

Kjos, the operations manager for Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corp.’s Mead smelter, is on the boards of the Spokane Area Economic Development Council and United Way.

Kjos also serves on the advisory council for the Spokane Intercollegiate Research and Technology Institute, one of the key institutions of the joint center. He replaces Shirley Rector.

Lowry also reappointed Roberta Greene, Gerald Leahy, Scott Lukins and Michael Ormsby. All six appointees will serve four-year terms.

The Joint Center coordinates baccalaureate and graduate degree programs for institutions of higher education in Spokane. The center develops and maintains the Riverpoint campus and administers SIRTI.
