Mimes To Accompany Symphony

The Magic Circle Mime Company will be accompanying the Spokane Symphony for a family concert titled “The Listener” on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Opera House.

The 50-minute concert is designed as an fun and educational way for kids to learn about the symphony.

The mimes will teach the audience “the art of listening” at the symphony while Fabio Mechetti leads the symphony through some classical favorites such as Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” and Bizet’s “Carmen.”

Prior to the concert at 1 p.m., there will be a Musical Fun Fair and Musical Petting Zoo for children. At the fair, children will get to take a backstage tour, make music on a computer and look at and play the instruments of the symphony. The fair is free to ticket holders.

The Westwind Quartet will be playing in the lobby before the concert. Tickets are $7 reserved seats, $5 general admission, and are available at G&B outlets.
