Thief walked away with hopes, memories

Damn you, whoever you are.

Early Friday morning, you and your slimy friends walked down our well-lit driveway and twisted the doorknob off my husband’s workshop and walked away with all of his automotive tools, as well as all of my grandson’s tools.

In the last two years, my husband has had five bypasses, lung surgery, his aorta replaced and his leg amputated. This is the first time in 46 years that I have seen my husband break down and cry.

You took his memories, his father’s special tools. You destroyed his hopes. His tools were locked in his shop waiting for the day when he could return to use them.

Yes, they can be replaced, but it won’t be the same. Those were gifts throughout the years from his family. Our grandson worked so hard to build up his toolbox, too.

If you really want this to pay off for you, why don’t you turn in one of your sticky-fingered friends and we’ll give you a nice fat reward. Don’t bother coming down our driveway again. There’s nothing worth taking now. Claudene Uttke Greenacres
