Legislative Action

Action Tuesday in the Washington Legislature:

SENATE:

Approved and returned to the House for concurrence in amendments HB1248, which would defer sales taxes on all materials, equipment and labor used to build a horse race track in Western Washington.

Approved and returned to the House for concurrence in amendments HB1560, which would make it a felony to avoid payment of gasoline taxes. Under current law, it is a misdemeanor.

HOUSE:

Approved and sent to the governor SB5800, which would require the state Division of Developmental Disabilities to redirect into disabled programs any money saved trimming other programs for the disabled.

Approved and sent to the governor SB5235, which would create a seventh judgeship on the Clark County Superior Court.
