Coach Changes Mind
High school coach Don Flanagan, who last week was hired to turn around New Mexico’s struggling women’s basketball program, has changed his mind, saying he would rather watch his son play ball for Boise State.
New Mexico athletic director Rudy Davalos named Flanagan coach last Friday, but said the coach changed his mind suddenly.
Flanagan said he decided against the job because it wouldn’t allow enough time for his family. He said he may leave coaching altogether.
