Electrical Problem Sparks Trailer Fire

A fire sparked by an electrical malfunction damaged a trailer in north Spokane County on Saturday afternoon.

No one was injured.

The fire began just after noon in a trailer in the Shadows Motel and RV Park, 9025 N. Division, said Skip Wells, deputy chief of Fire District 9.

Neighbors noticed smoke and broke into the unoccupied trailer to try to extinguish the fire, Wells said. They also called 911.

Firefighters controlled the blaze within 15 minutes, Wells said. The trailer, at space No. 3, did not have a smoke detector, he said.
