Teen Listed ‘Serious’ After 2-Car Accident

FOR THE RECORD: Tuesday, April 18, 1995 CORRECTION: Sarah Tobler-Hilde, 17, injured in a car accident in Stevens County Saturday evening, was driving a car hit by another vehicle near Swenson and Pruffer, according to the Washington State Patrol. A Monday story was wrong.

A Spokane teenager was listed in serious but stable condition Sunday after a two-car accident in southern Stevens County.

Sarah Tobler-Hilde, 17, suffered head injuries and was taken by helicopter to Sacred Heart Medical Center. The accident occurred at 5:55 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Swenson and Pruffer.

Both cars were northbound on Swenson when one of the drivers slowed to make a left turn, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Tobler-Hilde’s car hit the first car, the patrol said.

A passenger was treated at Holy Family Hospital for leg and arm injuries and released.

Two people in the other car were treated for minor injuries at Holy Family and released.
