3 Awards For Valor Revoked By Army

Compiled From Wire Services

The Army has revoked decorations for valor awarded to three servicemen involved in the accidental killing of an American soldier during the 1991 Persian Gulf War after congressional investigators had raised questions about the honors.

The Army waited until Tuesday, on the eve of release of a report critical of its handling of the case, to say the commendations had been withdrawn. The news came more than eight months after senior Army officials indicated their intention to revoke the honors for valor, which had been attached to Bronze Stars given the three servicemen.
