Transsexual Charged With Killing Authorities

A transsexual was charged Friday with shooting to death a police officer and a prosecutor’s investigator as they tried to search her home for weapons.

Leslie Ann Nelson, known as Glenn Nelson before a sex-change operation two years ago, held dozens of officers at bay at the house for 14 hours before surrendering early Friday, police said.

Nelson, 37, opened fire with an AK-47 rifle Thursday afternoon after the two officers and the investigator went to her home to search for weapons.
