Clintons Questioned On Whitewater

Compiled From Wire Services

Whitewater independent counsel Kenneth Starr interviewed President and Mrs. Clinton under oath at the White House on Saturday, the White House said.

“As the president has previously announced, he and Mrs. Clinton are cooperating fully with the independent counsel,” said Abner J. Mikva, the White House counsel.

The president and first lady were questioned separately and for about two hours each in the residential quarters of the White House.

Starr took over the investigation of the Whitewater land deal in Arkansas last August from the previous independent counsel, Robert Fiske.
