Anger On The Internet

From Staff Reports

“The militia didn’t engineer the Oklahoma bombing, the government did.” … “The militia and its anti-government message also died in the bombing.” … “Hide all the guns because the feds coming to get them.” …

Those are some of the opinions, predictions and claims flooding computer bulletin boards used by gun-rights advocates, conspiracy buffs and militia supporters nationwide.

The bulletin boards are like high-tech coffee shops where people can chew over the latest news anonymously. More and more, militia members are sharing information and issuing alerts on-line.

Here’s a sample of recent messages:

“Perhaps the bombing in OK City will serve the Federal Government a reminder … I regret the loss of life, but the statement needed to be made. Unfortunately, instead of accepting this as a lesson, the FEDS will only crack down harder.”

“Who are the bastards who burned and flamethrowered to death dozens of innocent women and children in Waco?

“Who are the bastards who’ve killed thirty million unborn babies in the U.S. since 1973?

“Who are the bastards who suck away two-thirds of this country’s income EVERY YEAR in order to line their own … pockets?

“The impostors masquerading as our government kill people, enslave people, steal from people. They break apart loving families. They indoctrinate children with statist and collectivist ideology.

“No member of any militia I am aware of has done any of those things.”

“So they (the feds) couldn’t strike in the open … Now they begin their ‘black’ campaign by killing people in the heartland in order to spread as much terror as possible … I will lodge a prediction here. They will try to tie it to Waco, Janet Reno is behind this, the campaign will succeed because the media will persuade the public. Expect a crackdown. Bury your guns and use the codes. This puts us back another 20 years. It shouldn’t come as a surprise. If they’ll kill (former Clinton administration counsel Vincent) Foster to take attention away from themselves, they’ll do anything.”

“I just saw the leader of the Michigan Militia get up on national ‘Nightline’ and make a complete fool of himself … He made it clear the bombers were not formally members of the Michigan Militia - but he did not express any civilized sentiments about what the rest of ‘The People’ feel were absolutely intolerable atrocities. To put it in your terms - the collateral damage to numerous non-target completely innocent civilian personnel will do significant damage to militia public relations and political support - to the point there will be enormous pressure to disarm and neutralize your organizations.”

“Those responsible for WACO and Ruby Ridge were never fully brought to justice. The issue was and continues to be ignored. The politicians and media elite are still ‘without a clue.’ My fear is that their ignorant zeal will prompt for a tightening of the proverbial screws, that will only serve to aggravate an already volatile situation … At some point, the fringe will no longer be the principal players.

“The answer as I see it is to put the brakes on the federal gov’t. They drew first blood, without apologies. As long as the BATF exists and continues to make war on U.S. citizens, the whole thing may likely escalate into a civil war … Hang the bastards that blew up the building in OKC, followed the next day by the hanging of Janet W. Reno and BATF agents responsible for the planning of WACO. Their crimes are the same, so the punishment should be as well …”
