Levy Election Today In Post Falls

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Post Falls School District is holding a supplemental levy election today for $500,000 a year for two years.

The biggest portion of the levy revenue, $260,000 each year, would go to maintenance. The rest would purchase new textbooks and school buses.

The proposed levy would replace a $450,000 supplemental levy in effect for the last two years.

The school board decided to increase the levy amount by $50,000 because, even with the increase, the levy tax rate will remain at 80 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value. At that rate, the levy would cost the average homeowner about $55 per year.

The polls are open today from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Ponderosa Elementary School, Post Falls High School, Frederick Post Education Center, Seltice Elementary School, Prairie View Elementary School and Pleasant View Community Center.

Residents who are not registered to vote may register today at any polling place.
