School Discipline On Board’s Agenda

From Staff And Wire Reports

A schoolwide discipline plan and changes in federal programs are on the Coeur d’Alene school board’s agenda tonight.

In response to parent concerns, school officials are taking steps to adopt districtwide discipline methods.

An Eastern Washington University professor may be hired to work with teachers and administrators at the beginning of next school year, said Hazel Bauman, director of elementary education in Coeur d’Alene.

Changes in the way federal programs, such as Chapter 1, are administered will also be discussed.

In other business, the board will decide whether to adjust the attendance zone boundary for the two middle schools, and discuss the May 2 supplemental levy election.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the school district headquarters, 311 N. 10th St.
